Float

Perception is central to our inner world, and our outer world is largely shaped by it. But is perception fixed? Does it change between day and night? What happens when it changes and the dichotomies merge? This piece explores these questions.

The woman at the center, with two minds, knows what it feels like to stand between dichotomies – to feel and perceive two opposites at the same time and decide which one to embrace more fully. She is warm and has become the day. Her blue face in the foreground has also transmuted into her perception – the night. She now knows what it is to be both day and night. She is free: free to be, free to choose between the two.

The big fish represents this state of perception – floating between the dichotomies amidst a sea full of fish, each perceiving the world differently..
